TRAVELS::LONDON->PARIS... PARIS!
Dec. 18th, 2005 01:09 am
Christmas is all around! Рождественское настроение повсюду (особенно в Париже, но об этом позже).
В лобби отеля стояла обычная украшенная ёлочка. Что интересно - иголки у неё - шире, чем у русско-украинских :-)
2005 Dec 16, London ->Paris->London
Christmas is all around!The day started at 3:30 AM.
I picked up my stuff and went out to Waterloo train station, "eurostar".
The train station was crowdy and busy. The shifts between day and night don't really affect itPassport control is passed, everybody's seated, we're going out of London, to Paris!
Only 3 hours and 154£ and you're in Paris.
It's interesting , the 154£ amount just chases me! - the price of my new glasses :-)!
At Paris: first of all - the main reason of being in Paris - Ukrainian Embassy. Because of heavy rain there were a lot of traffic jams... at 10:15 I'm in the Embassy.The clerks spoke french or ukrainian, so I asked several guys to help me with translation, pretending I speak only Hebrew and English. As a result - I received pretty clear picture of the world, I'm trying to go into: it is fucking weird world, I don't really want to be in.
They told me, the embassy REQUIRES invitation registered and issued by 'OVIR' (the special department of the Ministry of Interior for vosas), and it goes without any connection!
I was in the line with several israelis, who have NO russian origin. All these guys were CHECKED whether the embassy got the invitation for them.
The embassy is near Eiffel Tower and the Hotel des Invalides
After the failure with the embassy, I went to the Eiffel Tower. and took the tour:

When I was at the 2nd floor of the Eiffel tour, called
The following photos - the pictures from the Paris streets, pharmacy, some shop with the dog.

Charles Cordier(1827, Cambrai-1905, Alger)
There were 3 sculptures, here only one of them.
You definitely should know this person :-).It's interesting, I liked only one (the right one) from all of his pictures I've seen!! /D'orsay, National Gallery in London
Don't think of him of as the great painter!
Jean Francois MILLET(1814-1875)
Le Printemps (The Spring)
Another Millet's picture. This man from the left copied it won his sketchbook with pencil.

- Honore Daumier(1808-1879)
Don Quihot and the dead cow.
Gustave Moreau(1826-1898, Paris)

Les Andelys; La berge 1866
Henri Edmond Cross(1856-1910)
Exactly at this moment (3:45PM) Vlada called me, saying, She's waiting near the entrance to the D'Orsay.
At D'Orsay they have no fresh flowers and Champagne, but I had really good replacement
As a Decent Gentleman I gave her funny-toy-flower and a ukrainian brandy :-)
She smiled and we started our way of fortune searches :-)

- Opera house
Last minutes with Vlada and I'm going back to London :-).BTW, I'm really thankful for her generosity!
When I run out of money, she fed me with really good sandwich and tea :-)
(I had 2 credit cards, but none of them worked :-( )
