[mail2lj] Internet usage in Ukraine
Dec. 20th, 2004 02:00 pmAt workplace we have new policy for internet for non-working purposes:
12cents per Megabyte after 100MB overtraffic threshold.
It means I'm depressed.
Ok,
- It's better than nothing.
- I still can use internet... but from tomorrow, or the day after.
- Thanks God, I use Opera browser - it smartly caches all the downloaded contents and allows me easily choose pictures, I really want to open/download.
- I feel the bias to crackdown can easily turn me off this company... There're plenty of others around. (Even I never passed 60mb the limit of from work)..
- I have to make backup of my site... it is 850MB...
But what's going on with internet in Kiev/Ukraine?
The situation is kinda nightmare:
- Unlimited dialup costs more, than unlimited ADSL in Israel.
- ADSL/DSL - from 5cents/mb up to 24 cents/Mb, for relatively bad quality of the line..., not including relatively high monthly (subscriber) fees.
